Introduction

Microsoft has designed Windows 10 with  a touch screen but did not forget its traditional PC users, and they included keyboard shortcuts, keys or combos of keys that provide an alternate technique to do whatever you’d often do with a mouse. Here is the list of all Windows 10 keyboard shortcuts including brand new shortcuts keys for the command prompt for individual who choose a physical keyboard.

Basic keys

Ctrl + A –  It is used to Select all items in a window.
Ctrl + C –  It is used to Copy selected item.
Ctrl + X –  It is used to cut selected item.
Ctrl + V –  Paste selected item.
Ctrl + Z –  It is used to undo the previous action.
Ctrl + Y –  Redo action.
Shift + Delete – It is used to delete selected item permanently.
Alt + F4 – Close the current app/window.
Windows key + F1 – Open “how to get help in Windows 10” Bing search in the default browser.
Alt + Tab – it is used to switch between open apps/windows.

Start menu and taskbar shortcuts key

Windows key or Ctrl + Esc – These keys are used to open Start Menu.
Windows key + X – It is used to open the quick start menu.
Windows key + Alt + Number – Open the right-click menu for the app pinned in the position on the taskbar.
Ctrl + Shift + click a taskbar button –  It is used to open an app as an administrator.
Shift + click a taskbar button – It is used to open an app or quickly open another instance of an app.
Shift + right-click a taskbar button – It is used to show the window menu for the app.
